“Anything that is human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.”
– Fred Rogers

Education and Licensing:
I hold a Doctoral Degree in Social Work (DSW), which I obtained through the University of Southern California (USC) in 2019. I earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree in 2010 and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology in 2007; both degrees were completed at California State University Long Beach (CSULB). Most recently, 2023, I completed a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Mindfulness Studies at Lesley University.
Following my MSW degree, I shifted from nonprofit work to follow my passion as a School Social Worker. I joined the Clark County School District (CCSD) in Las Vegas, Nevada, in January 2011. I remained with CCSD until 2019, when I completed my Doctorate and decided to move back “home” to the Iron Range with my partner and daughter to be near family and enjoy country living with farm animals.
I obtained my graduate-level licensing in 2011 (this is equivalent to a Licensed Graduate Social Worker, LGSW, in MN) and my clinical license in 2015, enabling me to practice therapy independently. I am currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Nevada (6983-C) and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Minnesota (28508).
